	San Andreas Regional Center San Andreas Regional Center is a private, nonprofit corporation with offices located in Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties. San Andreas is one of twenty-one regional centers funded by the State of California Department of Developmental Disabilities to service people with developmental disabilities and their families. San Jose State University Special Education Teacher training programs in Early Childhood Special Education and Master’s Degree program approved by California CTC and NCATE standards. San Jose Unified School District Special Education San Jose Unified School District (SJUSD) provides special education services for children and young adults from 3 years to 22 years of age depending on their needs. Phone: (408) 535-6000 San Jose Unified School District State Preschool Program Provides a part-time program for qualifying low-income families with 3 and 4 year old children. It provides comprehensive early learning experiences focused on school readiness. Santa Clara County CARES Project CARES is a cash stipend program designed to encourage and reward educational attainment for early education professionals who work in licensed early childhood programs in Santa Clara County. Santa Clara County Department of Mental Health Mental Health Services (counseling/therapy) for families and children through age 18 are provided in the community or clinic based settings. Services are culturally and linguistically appropriate located geographically throughout the county. These services are provided based on the level of need and financial eligibility. Santa Clara County Office of Education – Special Education The Special Education Department provides a variety of instructional programs and services for infants, children, and youth with severe and low incidence disabilities from birth through 22 years of age. These students live at home, in licensed children’s institutions or at the local state hospital, and are served more effectively by the comprehensive programs offered by the Santa Clara County Office of Education. Santa Clara Unified School District Santa Clara Unified School District offers a continuum of special education programs that includes services for student with mild to severe disabilities including programs for autism and one program for the hearing impaired. Santa Clara University Graduate program offering a Master's degree and California Commission approved Credential in Early Childhood Special Education allowing service to birth to five year olds with special needs. Special Education Local Planning Area (SELPA) The Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) coordinates with school districts and the County Office of Education to provide a continuum of programs and services for students with disabilities from birth through 22 years of age. The SELPA office serves as technical support to districts and parents by developing policies, supporting the management information system, implementing funding allocation plans and assisting with due process hearings and complaints. West Valley College The Child Studies Department offers eight certificate programs and an Associate of Science Degree program designed to prepare students to work in a variety of early childhood settings, and satisfy the early childhood education coursework required by the Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Title 11, and the State Department of Education Title 5 regulations. WestEd Center for Prevention and Early Intervention The Program for Infant Toddler Caregivers, Partners for Quality (PITC PQ) offers on-site training and technical assistance in the PITC philosophy. The training includes a comprehensive series of videos and active adult learning strategies. PITC is a responsive, relationship-based approach to infant/toddler care and is based on sound developmental research, theory, and practice.
