Vitality Wellness Program: Wellness and Rewards
This new incentive-based wellness tool is available to all regular-permanent
staff as part of the commitment to be a premier employer with an organizational
culture that supports employee success.
Vitality is an online program that rewards you for your efforts to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Click here for an overview of the program and a letter from our County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Charles Weis.

Become a Vitality Champion!
Vitality Champions promote, support, encourage, and motivate co-workers to achieve personal wellness goals. They help create a healthy work environment through utilization of the employee wellness program and act as liaisons between the SCCOE Wellness Coordinator and staff. Vitality Champions adopt healthy lifestyles and proactively seek ways to educate others at their worksite. Click here for the full description of a Vitality Champion.

Ridder Park fitness center
The center is open Monday-Friday from 6:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. and is closed on weekends and scheduled holidays. For information regarding rules and access to the SCCOE Ridder Park fitness center, click here or contact the General Services department at 453-6704.
The center offers:
- Cardio training equipment: treadmills, stationary bikes, a stair stepper, and elliptical trainer
- Strength training equipment: free weight dumbbells and a multi-station with weight stacks
- Racquetball court: reserve your court time on the board outside the court
- Exercise DVDs and televisions: available for your use in the center

Weight Watchers @ Work
Learn how small changes can lead to big results! The SCCOE Weight Watchers @ Work group meets weekly. For more information, contact Tricia Zamora or 453-3616.
CONCERN: Employee Assistance Program
The CONCERN Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is part of the SCCOE staff benefits package. CONCERN offers self-development
workshops to SCCOE staff, as well as provides individual counseling. A variety of health, wellness, life management, and
personal growth topics are covered in the workshops.
Topics for onsite workshops include:
- Exercise: Getting started and staying motivated
- Life in the fast lane: A survival guide to healthy eating
- Rev up your metabolism
- Relaxation techniques for wellness and stress reduction
- The road to balance: Your work and personal life

Flu Vaccination
Staff is encouraged to get the vaccine through their healthcare provider.
Blue Shield (covered benefit / appropriate co-pay applies):
- HMO – Contact your Primary Care Provider
- PPO – Contact a Network Provider's Office
Kaiser (covered benefit / no co-pay):
- HMO or DHMO Plans – Contact any Kaiser injection clinic for free of charge flu vaccine. For information call 1-800-KP-FLU-11 or 1-800-573-5811 or check here for the schedule of Kaiser flu vaccination clinics
To receive Vitality Points you must include proof indicating the vaccination, the clinic’s name, your name, and the date of service.
Next:
- Register on the Vitality website at www.powerofvitality.com
- Click the 'HOME' tab
- Click on 'FORM SUBMISSION'
- Find Select Form drop down menu and select 'PREVENTION ACTIVITY'
- Indicate FLU SHOT where it says type of prevention activity
- Complete the information
- Using the browse button, attach proof and submit within 90 days of receiving the vaccine
