Curriculum Leadership Council
The Curriculum Leadership Council (CLC) serves as a collaborative community of educators who "lead by doing." The CLC will learn, reflect, and empower each other to be teacher leaders, with the knowledge and skills to transform culture and practice at our schools.
For the next three years, CLC will focus on the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Participants will join a cadre of teacher-leaders from around the county to develop their skills and knowledge to support colleagues with the new standards.

The goals of CLC for 2011-2012 are to:
- build leadership capacity to implement CCSS
- calibrate student work
- share best practices to support rigorous instruction
- integrate 21st Century learning skills
Years two and three will be focusing on implementation and assessments. For more information, please click here.
We hosted a CLC Summer Institute in June and had 170 participants and will be hosting another institute, for those who were not able to make the summer institute, on September 16 and 17. For a sneak peak about what teacher leaders are doing, check out our 2011 Summer Institute at a Glance.
Part of the three-year plan is to work with our district partners during four follow-up sessions throughout the school year to help support districts with implementation in a collaborative setting.
Four full-day workshop follow up meetings are scheduled for:
- Wednesday, September 28th
- Tuesday, December 6th
- Thursday, February 2nd
- Thursday, March 29th
This program is offered free of charge. For more information, contact Melissa Christie (408) 453-6688 or melissa_christie@sccoe.org
